With a mission to inspire a generation of composers, we’re proud to announce our Education Programme. It’s a great way for institutions, educators and students to enjoy more of the world’s finest orchestral musicians and their instruments, for less.
If you are a student or educator at any accredited institution worldwide, you are eligible for a 30% discount off the retail price of any Spitfire Audio library.
Spitfire Audio is a British music technology company. We specialise in sounds: sample libraries, virtual instruments and other useful software devices. We collaborate with the best composers, artists and engineers in the world to build musical tools that sound great and are exciting to use. We record instruments being played one note at a time and combine them into virtual instruments, allowing you to perform and compose using those instruments within your DAW (digital audio workstation).
Spitfire Audio was founded by composers, Christian Henson and Paul Thomson and came about from their shared dissatisfaction for string sample libraries. After recording their own string samples, with the idea to share them with a limited number of friends and associates, they found that some of the most renowned composers in film and television signed up, after which Spitfire Audio was born.
Over 10 years later, Paul and Christian have recorded and released over 50 libraries and collaborated with the likes of Hans Zimmer, Eric Whitacre, Olafur Arnalds and London Contemporary Orchestra, and have heard their sounds used in everything from major film scores to recordings by Radiohead and U2.
