We went back to visit Trevor Morris, this time to talk about his workflow when composing for film and television.
It’s been a few years since our last Creative Cribs with Trevor Morris, so we headed back to his LA studio to catch up. Known for his scores on The Tudors, The Pillars of the Earth, The Borgias, and Vikings, as well as the film Olympus Has Fallen and its sequel London Has Fallen, Trevor has honed and mastered his composing workflow over many years, offering us some great insight during our visit.
Christian and Trevor have a geeky dive into his set up, and how he approaches his cues using Cubase and preparing for recording sessions. We take a look at his template set up, the samples he uses when sketching out ideas. Plus some insight and advice for any composers looking to record at Studios, including time and orchestrating and recording session management.
We would like to thank Trevor and his assistants for having us to visit again.
