At Spitfire Audio we make sounds for film composers. Our sample libraries and virtual instruments enable anyone to recreate the sound of an orchestra in stunning detail. Founded in 2007, we have recorded and released over 80 sample libraries, including collaborations with the godfather of film scoring himself – Hans Zimmer. Created with the finest musicians, engineers and studios in the world, our sounds can be heard across globally-successful movies, TV shows, computer games and albums. We are also breaking down the barriers to orchestral music making by providing a wide range of free virtual instruments, all as part of our mission to inspire a generation of composers.

Job Description

You will be responsible for assisting the Lead Editor in marketing the magazine. Supporting across a range of tasks the ideal candidate will have a keen interest in written editorial, as well as experience in digital marketing for an online brand. The candidate will work alongside the Lead Editor in marketing the overall brand as well as new articles and video releases across a wide range of for our online platforms.

Hours: 9-5, 4 days a week

Location: Remote/home working

Salary: Dependant on experience

  • Creating ad campaigns to successfully market the articles that we release
  • Market the overall brand to new audiences to gain new readership 
  • Managing and running social media ad campaigns
  • Managing the Composer Magazine Instagram & Facebook channels and help build the brand by sourcing and scheduling content as well as interacting with the community
  • Monitor the success of newly released articles and report to the Lead Editor on metrics
  • Help in increasing the monthly newsletter subscriptions   


These skills are essential to the role: 

  • Passion for music culture journalism
  • Strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, spelling and style
  • Great at hitting deadlines & strong time management skills
  • Keen interest in the film, TV, games & record industries 


These skills are not essential but would be highly desirable: 

  • Experience in feature and reviews writing preferred
