It's been a busy few weeks at Spitfire Audio — as some of you may know, it was our Black Weekend, and we opened the doors of our brand new HQ to celebrate. To us, Black Weekend is not just about discounts — it's a chance for us to connect with our community. We hosted a series of exciting livestreams, performances and events, and if you missed any of them, you can catch them here in this month's Journal.
We have an incredible workflow and performance session with The London Contemporary Orchestra, Christian sits down with his brother Joe Henson of The Flight, and Oliver & Homay discuss their work so far on Inside The Score. Paul and Christian also share their Hidden Gems — some of their favourite sounds from their most treasured Spitfire libraries. We also share with you an exclusive Workflow episode with Jeff Russo (Fargo, What Remains of Edith Finch, Legion) who talks through his score for TV series Star Trek: Discovery.
Earlier in the year, we had the pleasure of visiting Joseph Trapanese (The Greatest Showman, Straight Outta Compton, Oblivion) for a brand new Creative Cribs episode. Here, he shows Oliver around his studio to talk through the recording of his latest score for Robin Hood. Jake Jackson invites us to AIR Studios to give us an insight into the recording process from an engineer's perspective. And finally, we share an exclusive Ones To Watch performance and interview with LA-based harpist, Lara Somogyi.
