LABS is a series of free software instruments, available in our easy-to-use, dedicated plug-in. The user interface is clutter-free and focused, featuring simplified controls, sliders for expression and dynamics, and a knob that can be easily customised to the user’s personal workflow.
You don’t! LABS is a dedicated, free to use plugin available as VST2, VST3, AAX and AU, so it can be used directly in your favourite DAW.
You will only need the Spitfire Audio App. Just press GET on spitfireaudio.com/labs/ and you will be guided through the process.
We provide a VST2, VST3, AAX and an AU, so as long as your chosen DAW supports one of those plugin formats, you’re good to go.
As each DAW is different, we have some useful videos available here which will get you up and running in no time.
You can. It’s simply a case of redownloading through the website.
Yes - in fact, we encourage it!
1. Upload your track to your own Soundcloud account, featuring at least one LABS instrument.
2. Tag your track with #labscommunity and the name of the instrument/s you used e.g #labswurli
3. We’ll listen to the submissions on Soundcloud by tracking the #labscommunity tag, and will put our favourites into the following month’s Community Playlist!
No strict rules on this per-se, but 1 - 3 minutes is ideal.
To be considered for the playlist, your track must be your own original composition (not a cover) and free from copyright.
Absolutely! But the LABS instrument/s that you include need to be easily audible and recognisable. This is a bit of a grey area we know, so you’ll need to apply some judgement here. As a rough guide, your track should be a minimum of 50% LABS to be considered.
Yes! There’s no limit to the number of tracks you make and tag, but we will only feature one track from any given artist in each playlist.
Keep an eye on your Soundcloud inbox. If your track is selected for the playlist, we will message you directly via Soundcloud messenger.
