Created for Live 11 and housed within the built-in sampler, Spitfire Audio Instrument Packs bring beautifully recorded strings, brass and piano directly into the digital audio workstation. Included within Live 11 Suite or available to buy individually, these Packs unlock exciting new possibilities for expression, especially with MPE controllers.
A beautiful Bechstein Model 7 built in 1910 was chosen for its warm, rich sound. Special attention was taken to sample the mechanical noises of the hammers and pedals as well as the natural resonances of the open strings when the sustain pedal is held, resulting in a realistic, immersive instrument.
Four of London’s finest string players form a quartet consisting of 1st Violin, 2nd Violin, Viola and Cello. The players were recorded together as a pre-orchestrated ensemble that seamlessly blends from one instrument to the next – providing 20 instantly-playable, multi-sampled instrument presets, including 9 designed for MPE controllers.
A quartet consisting of Trombone, Tenor Horn (aka French Horn), Flugel Horn and Trumpet, all performed by four of London’s finest brass players and recorded together as a pre-orchestrated ensemble that seamlessly blends from one instrument to the next – for instant playability, 9 MPE presets expand your creative possibilities further.
To create these Packs, we recorded some of London’s finest musicians in an intimate, dry acoustic to give you a truly versatile sound and complete control over reverb and effects. Each expertly sampled note has been captured in detail using vintage valve and ribbon microphones, blended together to form a versatile, bespoke mix.
These Spitfire Audio Packs are designed to be part of Live itself. With a set of controls instantly familiar to any Ableton or Spitfire users, they offer a new level of streamlined creativity. Each Pack even includes 50 MIDI clips – different melodic styles and chord progressions can provide inspiration, start you on a creative path, or serve as the basis for experimentation.
A selection of MPE presets offers expressive articulation, letting you change each note’s technique independently using an MPE controller (Brass and String Quartet only).
Plus, each Pack includes custom Max for Live devices for added realism, most notably with delicately tuned crossfade curves for the All-in-one instruments.
The packs are made exclusively for Live 11 Suite and aren’t backwards compatible with older versions of Ableton.
