#018 April 2017 Polyconvolution

This has been a big month for us, and it seems timely that our 10th birthday would also usher in our first dedicated plugin. We had begun work on this 4 years ago, and 2 years ago composer and sonic architect BT (Brian Transeau) joined the party with a wild idea that has led to us collaborating on a totally new form of synthesis - polyconvolution - with BT Phobos. What is it and how does it work? Christian has a go at trying to explain with a fancy signal diagram and some plasticine, but BT probably better describes it in his extended interview video that gives us a real insight into the genesis of this extraordinary new piece of kit. We visit some more friends in Iceland and complete our two-part visit of Schimmel Pianos. In addition to all that, Pascal tackles computer music vs electronic music, and the Spitfire team offers up its favourite video game scores.
